For the first time in Jackson Christian’s history, a player from its football team has been named a finalist in the Tennessee Titans Mr. Football awards, which are presented to the top football players in the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association (TSSAA).

As a finalist for this award, senior quarterback Aaron Smith has been invited to attend a luncheon at Nissan Stadium December 8, 2020, where winners from each TSSAA classification will be announced.

On the field Smith’s record includes 700 rushing yards and 2,566 passing yards. He also has 25 passing touchdowns, a school record, and 38 total touchdowns, which tied the school’s record. Coach Darby Palmer praised Smith and the entire Jackson Christian Eagles team for its strong work ethic this season.

“Even though this is an individual award, our team as a whole really came together and believed. Their hard work and determination set people up for individual accolades,” Palmer said. “Our whole offensive unit did a great job all year and with Aaron leading the group, they had tremendous success!”

Smith also praised his teammates for working together.

“We are a family, a brotherhood. The bond we have as brothers drives us to play well and work hard for each other, not just play for ourselves,” he said.

Congratulations Tennessee Titans Mr. Football finalist Aaron Smith! Jackson Christian celebrates this historic achievement with you and the entire Eagles team!
