They say you can’t go home again, but that’s not quite true for new kindergarten teacher, Ashley Carter. Carter began as a student in Campbell Street’s preschool program and spent her entire K-12 career at Jackson Christian. When Mrs. Bradford offered her a teaching position for the upcoming school year, Carter was excited and prayerful. After walking the halls with her mom and sister, both of whom currently teach at the school, Carter said “it felt right.”
“I wanted to be here, and I wanted my son to experience the loving, Christian environment I so cherished as a student,” she said. “It’s surreal that some of my former teachers are now my colleagues, but I also know that my son will be blessed to have them as teachers, just as I was.”
While a lot has changed in the 20 years since Carter was a student, some things stay the same.
“I believe the heart of this place will always be one of family.”
Welcome home, Mrs. Ashley Carter!
