ELV Students:

Infants through Junior K are not required to wear uniforms.

 
 

Kindergarten-5th Grade Approved Attire:

  • Long or short sleeve black, royal blue, gray, or white knit shirt from The Uniform Source
  • Long sleeve white or blue oxford cloth shirt from The Uniform Source
  • Khaki or black pants or shorts
  • Shoes: closed toe and closed heel
  • Boots may be worn, but students will be responsible for bringing athletic shoes to participate in PE.
  • Socks are required. Students may choose from solid white, khaki, blue, or black.
  • Outerwear: Solid black or royal fleece or royal quarter zip, black stadium jacket, or black windbreaker with the school logo purchased through The Uniform Source or the Jackson Christian store. Solid black fleece with a logo no larger than a credit card will still be acceptable. A jacket of any other color may be worn to school, but must remain in the cubby during the school day. Hoodies will be permitted on Spirit Day.
  • Hairstyles should have a neat appearance.
  • All questions and concerns relating to the appropriateness of dress and personal grooming at school shall be determined by the administration.

 
 

Specific to Girls:

  • Gray or black polo dress
  • Black cardigan sweater from The Uniform Source
  • Plaid skort from The Uniform Source
  • Khaki skirt, skort, or capris
  • “Modesty” shorts/compression shorts may be worn under skirt
  • Solid white or black, opaque, non-ribbed tights

 

 
 

6th-12th Grade Approved Attire:

  • Solid white knee or bobby socks
  • Solid white or black, opaque, non-ribbed leggings or tights
  • “Modesty” shorts/compression shorts may be worn under skirt

 
 

Specific to Boys:

  • MS Boys – Ties and bow ties
  • HS Boys – Blazer from The Uniform Source is optional.

 
 

Additional Guidelines for 6-12 Students

  • All clothing must be of appropriate size, worn modestly, and in good repair.
  • All shirts, blouses, and uniform sweaters must be from The Uniform Source or the Jackson Christian online store. Tops from vendors other than The Uniform Source or the Jackson Christian store will not be allowed.
  • All tops (excluding dress shirts) must have the school-approved logo visible on the upper left and be from The Uniform Source or the Jackson Christian store.
  • T-shirts and camisoles worn under collared shirts must be white and have no visible lettering.  The undershirt must be tucked in.
  • All boys’ shirts are to be tucked in and be long enough to remain tucked in throughout the school day.
  • Black shirts and/or outerwear will not be allowed to be worn with black pants/shorts.
  • All khaki pants, shorts, skorts, skirts, and capris must be the traditional khaki color; i.e., similar to the traditional khaki color offered by The Uniform Source. (These may be purchased from any vendor.)
  • Cargo pants/shorts  and joggers are not allowed.
  • Boys’ and girls’ shorts must reach within three inches of the knee.
  • Girls’ skorts and skirts must reach within three inches of the knee. Note: If you choose to hem the skirt, please leave adequate room for growth.
  • “Spirit Day” is designated as the final school day of every regular week. T-shirts and all outerwear worn on Spirit Day must be associated with JCS and/or should display the school name in some way.  Shirts acquired by various student clubs/groups are subject to approval by the administration.  Neat shorts, including cargo and jeans are allowed.
  • Belts are required for middle and high school boys.
  • Shoes: Sandals without a heel strap are permitted. Flip flops or slides are not permitted. No heels over 2″ (two inches) are permitted.
  • Outerwear: Black or royal fleece, black or royal quarter zip, black stadium jacket, or black windbreaker purchased from The Uniform Source. A letterman jacket or JCS outerwear that is solid black, gray, or royal (issued through an athletic team, extracurricular group or the JCS store) may be worn each day including Wednesday once approved by the Dean of Students’ office. The coach/sponsor will get that approval for students. TSSAA outerwear is not school-issued and will not be allowed during the school day. Sweatshirts/hoodies will be permitted on Spirit Day.
  • Hair should be worn so that length, style, and color will not draw undue attention to the individual or be inappropriate for the school setting.  For clarification purposes, boy’s hair should not be hanging below the eyebrows, over the collar of the shirt, or completely cover the ear.  Hair styles and facial hair should have a neat appearance.
  • Boys are not allowed to wear earrings or fingernail polish.  Other visible body art or body piercing is not allowed.
  • Girls may wear an appropriate number of earrings in the conventional manner.  All other types of body piercing are not allowed.  Visible body art is not permitted.
  • Hats are not permitted during the school day.
  • Only buttons, badges, or pins issued through the school are permitted.

Professional Dress Day

Wednesday is designated as professional dress day for secondary students.

  • Middle school boys will wear khaki pants/shorts with a white or blue oxford cloth button-down shirt and black or brown dress shoes. Bow tie or tie is optional.
  • Middle school girls will wear plaid skirt/skort with a white or blue oxford cloth button-down shirt and black or brown closed toe dress shoes or saddle oxfords. A solid black cardigan is optional.
  • High school boys will wear khaki pants with a white or blue oxford cloth button-down shirt and bow tie or tie and brown or black dress shoes. Logo blazer/blue blazer is optional.
  • High school girls will wear plaid skirt/skort with a white or blue oxford cloth button-down shirt and black or brown closed-toe dress shoes or saddle oxfords. A solid black cardigan is optional.
  • No tennis or athletic shoes

***The Uniform Source will serve as our uniform provider; however, all uniform items purchased from Parker Uniform may still be worn.

 
 

Senior Portraits

Students will be required to submit both a formal and casual picture for the yearbook.

  • Male students will wear a tux for the formal picture.
  • Female students will wear a drape for the formal picture.
  • All students must dress modestly and adhere to the school guidelines for the casual picture.
