--The
Varsity Coed Cheerleaders have returned from the
University of Tennessee's Elite UCA Cheer Camp with top
honors. With
approximately 22 squads (400 campers) JCS came away with
highest honors as Camp Champ in Coed and tied for Camp
Grand Champion. They also received first place
trophies in dance and cheer. Dallas McCarver and
Ladd Caldwell, as seniors, were selected as UCA
All-Stars. This was an elite camp which meant that UCA
provided the best staff to instruct in the most difficult
stunts, etc. Furthermore, the University of Tennessee
Cheerleading program provides the ultimate in cheer camp
experiences. Besides practicing in the football complex
among the UT football players and competing in finals on the
court of Thompson Boling arena where the lady Vols and Pat
Summitt were spotted training, our coaches were treated to
breakfast in one of the skyboxes of Neyland Stadium. Chris
Walker, defensive end, became our big brother and showed up
numerous times to cheer us on. We'll be sure to watch and
cheer for # 84 this fall. Go Vols! Go JCS!
--All elementary families are invited to a
Back-to-School Family Picnic on Thursday, July 31,
5:00-8:00 PM. It will be held on the elementary school
front lawn. Due to construction, parents should park
in the middle school/high school parking lot using the
Country Club entrance. |

Summer Camps:
--JCS Baseball Camp has grown in popularity
each year, so this summer we are adding another week
of camp. Our
second camp, July 7-10, will be exclusively for
athletes that want to become better hitters. In this
new week of camp, we will have time to further
explain the hitting philosophies and techniques that
have made the Eagle's Baseball Program 3 time back
to back to back District Champions as well as having
numerous players sign college scholarships.
