Andrew Carson enters his second season as
the Assistant Coach of the Jackson Christian School Baseball
Club. Carson graduated from Freed-Hardeman University in the
Spring of 2007 and immediately began teaching at Jackson
Christian School in the fall of 2007. He is currently teaching
8th grade Science, and he is also serving as the Head
Coach for the Middle School boys basketball team. Carson was a
double major at Freed-Hardeman University and received degrees
in Kinesiology and Bible. He played baseball for the
Freed-Hardeman University Lions from 2003-2006. During this
time, he learned the value of hard work, positive attitudes, and
a determined spirit, and he plans to pass these traits on to his
players. During his time at FHU, he patrolled left field and
was always a threat on the base paths. The highlights of
Carson’s playing career was a two-run home run against Murray
State, hitting the game winning double against Cumberland
University, and stealing 24 bases his senior season. Carson is
excited about the coaching opportunity that lies in front of
him. He says, “I am so blessed to be a part of a program that
truly cares about the individual. I want my players to know
that athletics are important, but giving glory to God is the
most rewarding aspect of this game.” |
